Cody’s Restaurant is a busy Chinese restaurant in Queenstown, and we are looking for some full-time chefs who specialising in Chinese cuisines and recipes to join our Kitchen team.

This is a full time permanent position, you will work 30-40 hours per week on the roster, with hourly rate $28.00 - $35.00, depends on your skills, qualification and work experience.

Candidates for this position must have at least 2 years’ relevant working experience in a commercial kitchen or a Diploma in cookery at level 5 or higher.

Our business operates 7 days a week, so please be aware that you may be required to work up to 10 pm on weekend shifts and public holidays.

Key Duties include:

  • planning and updating our menus
  • estimating food and labour costs for our restaurant
  • ordering food supplies regularly
  • monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
  • discussing food preparation issues with manager, kitchen, and waiting staff
  • demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
  • preparing and cooking food
  • explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
  • selecting and training kitchen staff when required
  • may freeze and preserve foods

We expect you to have:

  • At least 2 year work experience in commercial kitchen, or a Diploma in cookery at level 5 or higher
  • Flexibility to work on weekends, nights and public holidays
  • Drug free with a clean police record
