Unique Fixing Limited was established in September 2023 and specialises in gib fixing services. With a hardworking team of four, we are committed to quality workmanship, reliability, and professional results. As the company continues to grow, we are looking for a motivated fifth team member to join our supportive team.

It's going to be a full time permanent position.
• Measure, cut, and install plasterboard sheets to walls and ceilings accurately

• Fix and secure panels using appropriate tools, screws, and adhesives

• Read and interpret building plans and specifications

• Prepare surfaces and framing to ensure proper installation

• determining plasterboard layout, and installing insulation and vapour barriers

• measuring, marking and cutting plasterboard, lifting and positioning panels, and securing them to walls, ceilings and battens

• preparing corner beads and securing them in position

• fixing pre-cast cornices, panel mouldings, ceiling centres and other plaster fittings

• Check alignment and ensure smooth, level finishes

• plumbing and straightening corners, angles and wall and ceiling surfaces

• Fill joints, gaps, and screw holes to prepare for plastering or painting

• covering joins and nail holes with wet plaster and sealing compounds, and smoothing them using wet brushes and sand paper

• Sand and smooth surfaces for a professional finish

• mixing and applying coats of plaster, cement and render to structures using trowels, and levelling and smoothing coats to uniform thickness

• creating decorative textures in finishing coats

• applying and finishing acoustic, insulating and fireproofing materials bonded with plaster, plastic cement and similar materials

• Repair damaged plasterboard and replace sections when needed

• Follow health and safety guidelines on-site at all times

• Must hold a relevant qualification such as NZQA, BCITO, or equivalent in plasterboard fixing or construction
