On The Point – Lake Rotorua is a luxury boutique lodge offering premium accommodation, exceptional dining, and event facilities on the shores of Lake Rotorua. We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee daily operations, lead à la carte and degustation dining services, and ensure outstanding guest experiences. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent customer service, and a commitment to maintaining high dining standards while supporting the continued success of the lodge.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, including staff management, scheduling, and training
  • Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained at all times
  • Coordinate and execute à la carte and degustation dining services
  • Contribute to menu development and ensure the quality of cuisine and wine offerings
  • Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional manner
  • Maintain inventory and control costs to achieve financial targets
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences
  • Assist in the planning and execution of events and receptions held at the property
  • Stay updated on local and international wine offerings and provide recommendations to guests

Requirements:

·       At least 2 year’s experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry OR Duty Manager license to oversee the smooth operation of the restaurant during shifts

·       Passion for quality cuisine and wine

·       Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends

  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude
  • Familiarity with local and international wines is preferred
  • High standard of personal grooming
  • Duty Manager license to oversee the smooth operation of the restaurant during shifts, an advantage but not a requirement as can be obtained on the job. 
  • Previous experience in a fine dining environment, preferably in a senior waitstaff role
  • Familiarity with the Rotorua Destination, allowing you to share insights and recommendations with our international guests, is an advantage but not a requirement.

Position Type: Full-time permanent, 40 hours per week'
