Our client is looking for 2 Senior Commercial Facade Draughtspersons to fill positions at their premises in Hamilton. The role involves leading draughting projects and providing technical support to both internal and external teams. As part of the role, you will produce high quality shop drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards and supporting fabricators and architects across a range of projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for

  • Drafting technical details and production-ready manufacturing drawings
  • Leading projects from concept to completion, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
  • Providing technical leadership on commercial/shop drawing projects
  • Advising and resolving technical queries for window fabricators and architects
  • Supporting and mentoring other drafters (internal and external)
  • Ensuring all shop drawings comply with current standards and industry best practice
  • Managing and tracking projects Smartsheet

To be sucessful in the role you will possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a senior Commercial facade drafting role (5 years preferred)
  • Proven expertise in facade and curtain wall detailing 
  • An ability to work independently, make decisions autonomously and collaborate in a team environment
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD tools such as SOLIDWORKS, Inventor or Revit.
  • A strong ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings
  • Meticulous attention to detail and high accuracy
  • A background in the window and door industry and experience with aluminium systems and weather-tightness design.

This role is 42.5 hours per week
