The Role

We are looking for 3 Cabinet Makers to join our team. These are permanent, full-time positions with a minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a rostered schedule (morning or afternoon shifts as required). Additional hours may be required based on operational needs.

Pay Rate: $30.00 – $38.00 per hour (This is the minimum and maximum rate of pay for this role. No commission, piece rates or bonuses apply — all earnings are guaranteed at the agreed hourly rate.)


Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Manufacture, assemble and install kitchen cabinets and joinery to precise measurements and specifications
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, plans and job sheets
  • Cut, shape and join timber, board and other cabinet-making materials using hand and power tools and machinery
  • Fit hinges, handles, runners, and other cabinet hardware
  • Apply finishes, laminates and edging to cabinet components
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure all work meets company standards and customer specifications
  • Liaise with the office and management to coordinate job scheduling and project timelines
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment
  • Follow all health and safety procedures in accordance with New Zealand regulations
  • Report any workplace incidents or hazards to the Director
  • Assist with stock-taking and maintaining an adequate supply of materials and equipment
  • Attend team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of production processes
  • Any other duties as reasonably assigned by Management

Minimum Requirements

  • Qualifications: A relevant trade qualification at Level 3 or above (e.g., New Zealand Certificate in Cabinetmaking and Joinery Level 3 or equivalent), OR a minimum of 3 years of practical experience as a Cabinet Maker or in a closely related joinery/woodworking trade
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools and cabinet-making machinery
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible with rostered shift times
  • Must have no relevant criminal convictions and be willing to undergo a drug test if required
  • Must be eligible to work in New Zealand
