Carter’s Tyre Service Methven is seeking an experienced Senior Fleet Tyre Technician to join our high‑performing team. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical ability, proven experience with heavy machinery tyres, and a commitment to delivering safe, reliable, high‑quality work.

About the Role

You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing tyres across a wide range of heavy machines and equipment, including (but not limited to) forklifts, graders, earthmoving machinery, tractors, and industrial equipment using tubed or tubeless radial and bias‑ply tyres.

Your work will include:

  • Identifying abnormal wear, hazards, and potential safety issues
  • Repairing and maintaining tyres using chemical or vulcanised methods
  • Removing and replacing wheels, rims, and tyre assemblies
  • Refitting tyres and completing inspection checks to required standards
  • Supporting fleet customers with reliable, efficient service
  • Upholding Carter’s Tyre Service’s reputation for expert advice and workmanship
  • Rostered 24/7 On Call work

What We’re Looking For

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • NZQCF Level 4 qualification, or at least three years of relevant experience (equivalent to NZQCF Level 4 / NOL Skill Level 3)
  • Strong knowledge of heavy machine and equipment tyres, including types, sizes, and applications
  • Proven experience with industrial, agricultural, or earthmoving tyre work
  • A strong focus on safety, accuracy, and customer service
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a small, supportive team
  • A full NZ driver licence (Class 2 or higher an advantage)
