Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within commercial and construction sectors
- Grow existing accounts by increasing volume, product range, and frequency of orders
- Achieve monthly and annual sales targets (volume + margin)
- Build strong, long-term relationships with builders, site managers, and purchasing teams
- Be the primary point of contact for customer enquiries, pricing, and problem resolution
- Maintain regular site visits and face-to-face engagement
- Provide advice on plasterboard systems, applications, and compliance requirements
- Recommend suitable products (e.g. fire-rated, acoustic, moisture-resistant boards)
- Stay up to date with industry standards and supplier product changes
- Track competitor pricing, market trends, and construction pipeline activity
- Identify upcoming projects and position the business early in the supply chain
The Candidate
Key Skills & Attributes
- Strong sales and negotiation skills
- Solid understanding of the construction or building materials industry
- Previous experience with plasterboard, cladding or other building materials highly regarded
- Commercial background or residential commercial
- Ability to read plans and understand project scopes (highly advantageous)
- Relationship-driven with a proactive, on-the-road mindset
- Commercial awareness (margin, cost control, volume strategy)
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
