Due to a huge growth in IRD compliance, we are seeking an Accountant (full time permanent) to help our team mainly in the areas of Income Tax/Financial Statement compilation, GST returns, and IRD Audit & Risk Review compliance.

Job Description for Accountant:
1. Preparation of client source documents and input cash books, bank
statements for GST calculation and income tax into MYOB AO, MYOB
Essentials or Xero software
2. Reconciliation of year end figures, submission of draft accounts and raising
any identified issues or queries to be discussed with client or internal
accountant, including issues with general record keeping
3. Finalisation of Financial Statements and tax returns for Individuals (IR3),
Partnership (IR7), Companies (IR4) and Trusts (IR6) and reconciliation of
income taxes paid and outstanding for finalization of Tax Summary
4. If client uses cloud based software, tidy up and correct major mistakes and
advise client the correct treatment in future
5. Contact IRD for any issues relating to reconciling client’s GST return, Income
tax, RWT, payment issues and amend if necessary
6. Implement and maintain internal working paper for each financial year and
keep supporting documents filed electronically in MYOB Documents Manager
and Workpapers software
7. Secure financial data by completing yearly data backups
8. Preparation of documents requested via IRD Risk Reviews and Audit cases,
assist in collating and photocopying source documents, attend IRD meeting
as scribe if necessary
9. Occassional work with FBT on GST, NRWT returns and PAYE returns
10. Special purpose interim accounts when requested by client for bank loan or
Immigration purposes
11. Other clerical and administrative tasks as necessary
The successful applicant will have:
- Tertiary accounting qualifications or at least 5 years relevant accounting experience
- Accurate data processing and reconciliation skills
- Strong time management and ability to work autonomously to strict tax deadlines
- Must have good Microsoft Excel/Word experience
- Experience with MYOB Accountants’ Office is a bonus but we do provide training
Working hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: $35 per hour
