Carpenter

The Role:
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Carepentary work
Loading unloading material
Choose material for a particular
Installing wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists and stud work
Designing and installing cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall and insulation
Adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures
Selecting lumber by size and strength to suit each job, sourcing wood to suit the customer’s budget and style
Calculating the number of fasteners required for each job
Liaising with clients, suppliers and other construction professionals
Reading blueprints and designs to work to specifications prepared by other construction professionals, architects and
building code recommendations
Framing, roofing, and installing interior and exterior finishes.
Constructing timber structures and maintaining high safety standards on-site.
Working both independently and as part of a collaborative team to meet project deadlines.
What You Bring:
Experience: A minimum of two years of relevant work experience in carpentry is essential.
Skills: Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and proficiency with power tools.
Certification: A current Site Safe ticket is highly preferred (or a willingness to obtain one).
Gear: You must have your own reliable transport and a basic kit of hand and power tools.
Legal: You must have a valid New Zealand work visa, residency, or citizenship.
