We are looking for an individual to be an assistant manager at our busy restaurant located in Ashburton, Canterbury region.

 

Duties include


 Managing overall shift including allocation of duties to the staff, manage serving times, ensure customers are well looked after and supervise billing. 

 Develop and maintain a schedule for employees

 Manage costs and maintain profitability

 Ensure the restaurant remains clean and presentable at all times

 Customer service

 Billing and payment

 Staff supervision and training

 Ensure that all laws and regulations are followed by the staff

 Maintain optimal inventory levels, ensure stocking, implement stock plans and maintain contact with suppliers to ensure maximum efficiency

 

Role requirements

 

 At least one year experience in the retail sector OR a college level qualification in business/management/hospitality preferably.

 Must Have done Serve-Wise, Liquor Controller Qualification (LCQ).

 Duty Manager certificate is preferred or eligible to get one.

 Ability to remain calm under work pressure, willing to do the extra to ensure make the most of their day.

 Must have good work ethics and desire to understand industry and have aim to learn and grow together.

 Flexible in working long hours when required (which may include on call starts and late finishes, working on weekends and public holidays).

 Must know the office work like ordering stock, stock taking, inventory control management, vendor dealing and supplier selection.

 Must have knowledge of cash handling, float management and health and safety to ensure a smooth operation.

 

We pay $26 to $30 per hour depending on experience /qualifications.

Minimum Guaranteed hours per week will be 30. Maximum hours go up to 45.
