Seeking an experienced Forklift Operator for a Blenheim transport branch. This full-time permanent role involves safely loading, unloading, and moving freight, including wine tanks and specialised goods, while maintaining strong safety and operational standards. Candidates must hold a current forklift licence, have at least 3 years’ experience in transport/logistics, and be reliable, physically fit, and team-oriented.

Their Blenheim Transport branch plays a key role in servicing the Marlborough region. They pride themselves on delivering exceptional service to customers and building strong teams who take ownership of what they do.

They are currently looking for an experienced Forklift Operator to join the Blenheim-based operation. This is a hands-on role focused on the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to support the movement and handling of goods in a busy logistics environment. 

This is a full time, permanent role between 7:00 am and 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday. 

 

The functions of this role will include, but are not limited to: 

• Safe loading, unloading, stacking, securing, and movement of goods
• Operating forklifts using appropriate attachments
• Safely operating forklifts to move wine tanks on and off transport units, as well as loading and unloading freight in accordance with company quality and safety requirements
• Maintaining accuracy in documentation and freight records
• Communicating professionally with customers and team members
• Adhering to workplace safety procedures and operational standards
• Supporting general yard operations and maintaining a clean and organised workspace
• Providing general operational support within the work environment, including assisting with equipment handling and basic cleaning tasks as required

 

Our ideal candidate must:

• Hold a current forklift licence
• Have at least 3 years of relevant forklift operating experience, including handling heavy, high-care, or specialised freight in a transport or logistics environment
• Have demonstrated ability to safely load and unload oversized or sensitive freight while adhering to quality and safety requirements
• Be physically fit and comfortable with hands-on work
• Have a strong work ethic and takes pride in their work
• Communicate clearly and professionally
• Be reliable, safety-focused, and customer-driven
• Have basic computer or tablet skills (or is willing to learn)
• Enjoy working as part of a small, supportive team
