As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced ICT Head of Sales to lead
our sales function, strengthen our business development capability, and support the continued expansion of our ICT, telecommunications and enterprise solutions across New Zealand.
Job Summary
The ICT Head of Sales will be responsible for leading the company’s sales operations,
developing sales strategies, managing key client relationships, supervising sales staff, and
driving revenue growth across Unicom New Zealand’s ICT and telecommunications product
lines.
This is a senior sales leadership role requiring strong experience in ICT solution sales,
enterprise client management, team leadership, and commercial strategy. The successful
candidate will work closely with senior management, technical teams, account managers and business clients to identify market opportunities, develop tailored ICT solutions, and achieve business growth targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities for Unicom New Zealand’s ICT and
telecommunications services, including business broadband, voice, mobile, cloud, network security, SD- WAN, CCTV, access control and managed IT solutions. - Research and maintain a database of prospective business clients using industry directories, online business sources, referrals, existing networks and market research.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Unicom New Zealand’s ICT products and services, competitor offerings, pricing trends, customer demand and general market conditions.
- Visit and meet with existing and prospective business clients to identify sales opportunities and develop long-term commercial relationships.
- Assess client requirements and explain suitable ICT and telecommunications solutions based on their operational needs, budget and technical environment.
- Promote Unicom New Zealand’s ICT goods and services to existing and prospective clients through meetings, presentations, proposals and follow-up communications.
- Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing and commercial terms, assist with contract finalisation, and maintain accurate records of client orders and sales activities.
- Coordinate with technical, installation and service delivery teams to arrange delivery of ICT goods, installation of equipment and provision of agreed services.
- Monitor client satisfaction after purchase or service implementation, arrange modifications where required, and assist in resolving any service or product-related issues.
- Prepare regular sales reports, pipeline updates, client activity records, market feedback and business expense records for director.
- Support sales planning and revenue growth by analysing sales performance, customer feedback and market opportunities.
- Maintain strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, channel partners and internal technical teams to support successful sales outcomes.
Job requirement: applicant must meet following requirement to apply for this job
The successful candidate must have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in information technology, computer science,
telecommunications, business, marketing, management or a related field; or - At least 5 years of relevant senior sales, business development or sales management experience in the ICT, telecommunications, cloud, network, cybersecurity, data centre, managed services or technology solutions sector.
The successful candidate should also have:
- Proven experience in ICT or telecommunications solution sales.
- Strong understanding of business broadband, voice, mobile, cloud, managed IT, network infrastructure, cybersecurity or related ICT services.
- Experience managing enterprise, corporate or large business clients.
- Demonstrated ability to develop sales strategies and achieve revenue targets.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing or mentoring sales staff.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Ability to understand customer requirements and work with technical teams to develop suitable solutions.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage sales pipelines, forecasts and performance reports.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple client opportunities at the same time.
- Good understanding of the New Zealand ICT and telecommunications market would be an advantage.
- Fluency in English is required. Ability to communicate in Mandarin may be an advantage due to the company’s client base and business networks.
