NZ Tile Limited based in Auckland, a large, well-established tile company providing high quality tiles and comprehensive flooring services across Auckland. Our business includes retailing tiles, flooring solutions, and professional installation services for residential and commercial projects. We are looking for two Floor Finishers to join our awesome team. 

You will be expected to work at different sites throughout the Auckland region. The role guarantees a minimum of 30 hours per week, typically from Monday to Friday. You may also be required to work on Saturdays, with total working hours up to a maximum of 60 hours per week. Please note this is a permanent full-time role and the hourly pay rate would be $28.00-$32.00 based on the candidates' experience and skills.

Job Description for This Position

  • Measure floor areas and review plans or specifications to determine materials and installation requirements.

  • Prepare, clean, level, and smooth floor surfaces prior to installation, including removal of old flooring and trims where required.

  • Measure, cut, fit, and install a range of flooring materials, including timber flooring, laminate, vinyl, carpet, cork tiles, and other resilient floor coverings.

  • Install and secure underlay materials to ensure proper flooring support and finish quality.

  • Lay and align flooring materials accurately, including matching patterns, trimming edges, and fitting around corners, fixtures, and doorways.

  • Secure floor coverings using adhesives, bonding agents, grouts, sealants, or fastening techniques appropriate to the flooring type.

  • Fit edge trims and finishing materials to ensure neat and professional presentation.

  • Sand, stain, polish, and apply finishing coatings to timber floors to achieve required finishes and protect surfaces.

  • Inspect completed flooring work and carry out repairs, replacements, or refinishing works where necessary.

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe, clean, and organised condition while complying with workplace health and safety requirements.

  • Work collaboratively with team members and ensure flooring projects are completed efficiently and to quality standards.

Key Requirements for Successful Applicants

  • At least two years’ relevant working experience (experiences gained in the same industry will be considered as meeting the experiences requirements) with verified evidence.

  • Relevant qualification or certificate is a bonus.

  • Punctual and reliable with a positive can-do attitude will be key in this role

  • Be physically fit as the job involves heavy lifting.

  • A positive and willing attitude to learn and progress. 

  • Able to work with deadlines and schedules, and available to work weekends if required.
