About the Role

We are seeking a trade-qualified Electrician to join our team in Southland. This role offers a mix of variety and steady workflow, covering installations, maintenance, and repairs across both commercial developments and residential sites. From high-end residential fit outs to commercial plant maintenance, you will ensure all electrical systems are safe, efficient, and up to code. This is a great opportunity for a reliable sparky who can work independently while contributing to a high-performing technical team.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Examining blueprints, wiring diagrams and specifications to determine sequences and methods of operation
  • Measuring and laying out installation reference points
  • Selecting, cutting and connecting wire and cable to terminals and connectors
  • Using electrical and electronic test instruments to trace and diagnose faults
  • Repairing and replacing faulty wiring and defective parts
  • Positioning and installing electrical switchboards
  • Connecting electrical systems to power supply
  • Testing continuity of circuit
  • Installing, testing and adjusting electric and mechanical parts of lifts

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in commercial or residential electrical work.
  • 4 years (8000 Hours) of practical training, safety training and passing borad exams. 
  • Strong technical understanding of electrical circuits, controls, and diagnostics.
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret technical specs and blueprints.
  • Experience with a range of installations, from lighting and power to data and security.
  • High attention to detail with excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
  • Able to work independently and manage your time effectively on-site.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Full NZ Driver’s license is essential.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a "safety first" attitude.
