What You’ll Do:

This role focuses on maximizing returns by delivering excellent customer service and ensuring smooth production processes. Key responsibilities include fitting, assembling, welding, and casting bearings, collaborating with casting technicians for efficient transitions between casting, machining, and QC. The position emphasizes minimizing rework or warranty issues while maintaining high quality and meeting deadlines. Additionally, it involves maintaining a clean, organized workspace and providing general support in the workshop.

What You’ll Do:

  • Follow procedures for melting and heat soaking products.
  • Interpret customer engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Perform post-melt measurements and inspections on white metal bearings to ensure compliance with customer/engineering specifications.
  • Design, cut, and shape metal jigging, create pins for blocking holes, and de-burr components using various machines, hand and power tools.
  • TIG-weld white metal components using appropriate techniques.

· Prioritize quality and on-time delivery (DIFOT) in all tasks

The Ideal Candidate:

You will have:

  • At least 3 years’ relevant experience with white metal (babbitt) bearings.
  • We may consider a Level 4 qualification as an alternative if it included strands on hydrodynamic/white metal casting, machining or welding.
  • Experience / qualification in ultrasonic and dye penetrant Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) would be highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of bearing construction and design.
  • In-depth knowledge of white metal casting processes.
  • Proven ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • TIG welding experience with white metal components.
  • A proactive, self-motivated, and detail-oriented mindset.
  • Exceptional organizational skills to handle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
