We have two 6 -month contract opportunity available for a Junior Java Developer to join our Christchurch based clients. The successful candidate will get the opportunity to dive into a mix of cutting-edge technologies including Java, Angular and mySQL.


This is a Christchurch based opportunity, we will not be considering remote or FIFO candidates for this position.

THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Team Lead, you’ll enjoy the business’ core division supporting existing front-end web applications. You’ll play a key role within the team through on-boarding and supporting products in the existing applications and creating customer-focused solutions. You’ll design, develop and implement innovative programs for customers and work closely with stakeholders to translate requirements into code. It’s expected that you’ll contribute your thoughts, feelings and ideas in sprints and share your work to drive continuous improvement.

SKILL SET:
  • Tertiary degree in a relevant field and professional experience in web application development.
  • Familiarity with Java & modern front-end frameworks, specifically Angular.
  • Experience working with databases, particularly mySQL.
  • Able to read, modify, and design solutions across a range of technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • A clear communicator who enjoys collaborating with stakeholders and teammates.
  • Comfortable working in Agile environments and contributing to team delivery.
