Position Details
Employment type: Full-time, permanent
Location: Wellington
Hours of work: Minimum 30 hours and maximum 40 hours per week
Pay rate: Minimum NZD $30.00 per hour and maximum NZD $40.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience

Key Responsibilities
 Diagnose faults and carry out testing, servicing, and repair work on televisions, Hi-Fi systems, laptops and computers, mobile phones, tablets, gaming consoles, and other electronic devices handled by the business.
 Use diagnostic tools, measuring instruments, circuit diagrams, and technical manuals to inspect components, identify defects, verify faults, and determine suitable repair methods.
 Assemble, install, replace, solder, modify, and repair electronic parts, subassemblies, boards, wiring, and related equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and workshop procedures.
 Record test results, maintain service notes, prepare technical reports, and document inspection findings, repair actions, parts used, and final performance outcomes for each job.
 Estimate parts, materials, labour time, and repair costs, and support the preparation of customer quotes based on inspection findings and technical assessment.
 Evaluate the performance of repaired and serviced equipment by conducting post-repair testing to confirm functionality, reliability, and safe operation before release to the customer.
 Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and applicable workshop and regulatory procedures.
 Support workshop operations by managing inspection workflow, assisting with warranty-related service checks, and contributing to efficient turnaround of repair jobs across the company’s core service categories.

Skills and Experience Required
The successful applicant must have at least 3 years of verifiable work experience, or a Level 5 Diploma or above in Electronics, Electrical, or IT. Experience in diagnosing, testing, repairing, and modifying electronic equipment is highly desirable.
Strong technical troubleshooting ability, attention to detail, good record-keeping skills, and
the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.
