Nightfury Auto Limited is looking for Vehicle Painters to join our busy team. This is a permanent full-time role with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours of work per week.

Location: Auckland, New Zealand
Employment type: Full-time, permanent
Hourly rate: $28 to $30 depending on experience
Hours per week: Minimum 30 hours

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare vehicle panels and surfaces for painting by removing dents, rust, and rough areas
  • Sand vehicle surfaces using hand tools and power sanders
  • Mask and protect areas that are not required to be painted
  • Mix and match paint colours to achieve the required finish
  • Apply primers, base coats, and finishing coats using spray-painting equipment
  • Carry out touch-up work and minor paint repairs where required
  • Polish and finish painted surfaces to a high standard
  • Remove masking materials and clean completed vehicles before delivery
  • Assist with custom paintwork, decals, or signage when required
  • Apply rust protection treatments and maintain a clean and safe work area

 

Requirements:

  • A qualification equivalent to NZQF Level 3 or above in a relevant field OR at least one year relevant work experience.
  • Ability to prepare, paint, and finish vehicle surfaces to a good standard
  • Knowledge of spray-painting equipment, paint mixing, and surface preparation techniques
  • Good attention to detail and ability to work efficiently
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, physically fit, and able to work in a workshop environment
