The Opportunity
We’re on the lookout for an experienced Industrial Refrigeration Engineer to play a key role at a modern, high-performing production site.
This is a hands-on, site-based role where you’ll become the go-to expert for all refrigeration systems, working across ammonia and freon plant equipment. You’ll be central to keeping operations running smoothly while also contributing to exciting upcoming projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial refrigeration, HVAC, and cooling systems
- Maintaining plant performance through proactive servicing and component replacement
- Supporting major upgrades and projects, including a new ammonia plant installation
- Identifying equipment needs and helping optimise plant performance
- Bringing ideas to the table to improve reliability, efficiency, and safety
- NZQA Level 4 trade or similar qualification in refrigeration (essential)
- 3–5 years’ experience in industrial refrigeration, ideally with ammonia and/or freon systems
- Strong fault-finding skills and a practical, solutions-focused mindset
- A limited electrical licence is a bonus — or willingness to obtain one (full support provided)
- Someone who is already based in NZ is highly preferred
