TAC Mechanical Ltd is looking for a qualified Auto Electrician / Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The role involves diagnostics, servicing and repairs across trucks, agricultural machinery, construction equipment and mobile/workshop jobs. We need someone reliable, practical and confident working with both mechanical and electrical faults. Competitive hourly rate based on experience.

We are a practical, down-to-earth mechanical repair business working across trucks, agricultural machinery, construction equipment, trailers and small machinery. Our work includes both workshop and mobile repairs, so we need someone who is confident, reliable and able to problem-solve in real working conditions.

This role would suit someone who is experienced in both auto electrical diagnostics and heavy diesel mechanical repairs. You will be working on a variety of gear, so no two days are exactly the same.

About the Role

The work may include:

  • Auto electrical diagnostics and repairs
  • Heavy diesel servicing and maintenance
  • Fault finding and scan tool diagnostics
  • Repairs on trucks, agricultural machinery and construction equipment
  • Wiring faults, sensors, starters, alternators and electrical components
  • Workshop-based repairs
  • Mobile callouts and on-site repairs
  • General mechanical repairs and maintenance

We’re Looking For Someone Who Is:

  • Qualified as an Auto Electrician
  • Experienced or qualified in heavy diesel mechanical repairs
  • Confident working on trucks, farm machinery and construction equipment
  • Strong with diagnostics and fault-finding
  • Practical, reliable and honest
  • Able to work independently when required
  • Able to communicate clearly with the team and customers
  • Committed to safe, tidy and high-quality workmanship
  • Holds a current driver licence
  • Has the legal right to work in New Zealand
