Position: Automotive Workshop Manager

PPFX Limited trading as Survion is seeking an experienced Automotive Workshop Manager to lead and oversee our vehicle surface protection workshop in Auckland.
We specialise in premium automotive protection services, including paint protection film (PPF), vinyl wrapping, ceramic coatings, and vehicle enhancement solutions for a wide range of vehicles. This role is responsible for managing daily workshop operations, supervising technical staff, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and maintaining efficient workflow across all projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the automotive workshop, including job scheduling, workflow coordination, and resource allocation.
- Supervising and supporting a team of technicians engaged in PPF installation, vinyl wrapping, window tinting, and vehicle surface protection services.
- Monitoring and ensuring all installation work meets company quality standards, technical specifications, and customer expectations.
- Providing technical guidance and hands-on support for complex or high-value vehicle protection projects where required.
- Coordinating customer bookings, assessing job requirements, and providing advice on suitable vehicle protection solutions and service options.
- Overseeing the preparation and completion of vehicle protection services, including surface preparation, film application, and final quality inspection.
- Managing workshop productivity, turnaround times, and service efficiency to meet business targets.
- Training and mentoring junior technicians to maintain consistent workmanship and technical standards.
- Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety regulations, including safe handling of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Monitoring stock levels of films, materials, and consumables, and coordinating procurement as required.
- Maintaining workshop equipment, tools, and facilities to ensure optimal operational condition.
- Handling customer enquiries, resolving service issues, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Keeping up to date with industry developments, new installation techniques, and automotive protection technologies.
Skills and Experience Required:
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in automotive surface protection, vehicle wrapping, detailing, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience supervising or leading a workshop or technical team (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of PPF, vinyl wrap, tinting, or automotive finishing techniques.
- Ability to manage workflow, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced workshop environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to provide technical guidance and training to team members.
Employment Details:
- Full-time, permanent position
- Minimum 30 hours per week
- Hourly rate: $30 – $35 (depending on experience)
- Based in Auckland
