We are seeking an experienced and reliable Retail Manager to oversee the daily operations of our busy retail store environment.

Sunday: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm

Working Hours

30–60 hours per week depending on seasonal demand

Remuneration

$34 – $36 per hour depending on skills and experience

Giant Variety Store is a retail variety store offering a wide range of products including party products, toys, stationery, arts & crafts, hair & beauty products, kitchenware, household products, garden products, gift products, greeting cards, mobile accessories, and other general retail items.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, organise, and oversee the overall daily operations of the retail store.
  • Formulate and implement operational and financial strategies, including store budgeting and cost control measures.
  • Determine product ranges, stock levels, pricing strategies, and customer service standards for the store.
  • Monitor store sales performance and analyse sales figures to maximise profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Receive and respond to customer feedback, complaints, and enquiries to maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Plan and implement promotional campaigns, seasonal displays, and marketing activities to increase store sales.
  • Maintain accurate records of stock movement, sales transactions, financial activities, and store reports.
  • Ensure ordered products are checked, confirmed, and accurately invoiced upon arrival.
  • Supervise inventory control procedures, including stock ordering, stock rotation, and stock loss prevention.
  • Ensure products are correctly priced, attractively displayed, and presented in accordance with company standards.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate retail staff performance in consultation with management.
  • Prepare staff rosters and allocate duties to ensure efficient store coverage during operating hours.
  • Conduct staff meetings and implement operational improvements to enhance store performance and workflow.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations, company policies, and customer service standards.
  • Organise and coordinate promotional activities for seasonal, slow-moving, or newly introduced products.
  • Handle cash management, banking, and daily reconciliation procedures for the store.
  • Monitor payroll-related information for retail staff and ensure accurate wage records are maintained.
  • Liaise with suppliers, customers, and management regarding operational requirements and business objectives.
  • Provide direct customer service and product advice when required.
  • Perform any other duties reasonably assigned by the Director or Store Owner.

Qualification and/or Work Experience Requirements

  • Applicants must hold at least a Diploma qualification in Business or a related field, or have a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant retail management work experience.
