YangYang Contracting Limited is a New Zealand owned Kiwifruit establishment and management company that has been in operation for over 20 years. We are looking for 6 Orchard Senior Supervisors to work in the Bay of Plenty to help manage and support internal and contract staff with the maintenance of orchard harvest operations and post-harvest operations over 160 hectares across all seasons.
This is a genuine senior supervisory role which will require no hands-on low-level work. You will work a minimum of 30 hours and a maximum of 60 hours.
You will be paid between $30.00 to $35.00 per hour. These are permanent roles.
You will be required to work from Monday to Sunday between 6:00am to 6:00pm.
Your competencies:

· Have at least 3 years of general orchard experience including in orchard
· construction.

Your roles and responsibilities:
· Manage a team of orchard workers (a team of 5-10).
· Manage daily tasks, including allocation, and monitoring performance.
· Assist with staff induction (if required) development, and conflict resolution.
· Quality control.
· Oversee orchard structure maintenance.
· Oversee vine maintenance: pruning, thinning, de-budding, training, stringing.
· Monitor vine health, crop load, and report pest/disease/PSA issues.
· Oversee planting, mulching, and fertiliser application.
· Have knowledge of how to operate machinery like tractors and forklifts.
· Enforce company Health and Safety at work policies and procedures.
· Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, and incident reporting.
· Ensure proper use of PPE and maintain first aid supplies.
· Ensure work meets quality standards and specifications.
· Monitor adherence to Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).
· Knowledge of kiwifruit horticulture.
· Ensure weekly timesheets are completed and approved on time ahead of the
· specified deadlines.
· And any other relevant tasks.
