Construction Rigger

Pay Rate: $27.00 – $32.00 per hour

About the Role

AIS BOP Limited is seeking an experienced Construction Rigger to join our team on a client site in Auckland. You will be responsible for the safe rigging, lifting, and movement of materials, equipment, and structural components across active construction sites. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes safety seriously and works well as part of a site crew.

Key Responsibilities

• Rig and sling loads for crane lifts, ensuring correct sling angles, load weights, and attachment points
• Select and inspect lifting gear including slings, shackles, chains, and spreader bars
• Communicate with crane operators using hand signals and radio to guide load placement
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding, temporary structures, and safety barriers as required
• Assist with the positioning and securing of precast panels, structural steel, and formwork
• Conduct pre-use inspections of all rigging equipment and report defects
• Comply with site-specific health and safety plans, SWMS, and JSA requirements
• Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with site housekeeping standards

What We're Looking For

• At least 3 years ' proven experience as a Construction Rigger on commercial or residential construction sites
• Strong understanding of safe lifting practices, load calculations, and rigging techniques
• Ability to read and interpret lift plans and site drawings
• A current Site Safe passport or willingness to obtain one
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
• A valid New Zealand Class 1 driver licence or overseas equivalent is preferred
