About the role
We’re looking for experienced Machinists to join our team at Hautapu. The roles are central
to turning raw steel into accurate, high-quality components used across construction,
infrastructure, and manufacturing projects.You’ll be working as part of a team on large milling machines, typically machining large parts
from Hardox and Strenx High Strength Steel. Expect a wide variety of parts where no two
days are the same. As well as machine operation you will have the ability to plan the job on
CAD/CAM software to simulate the job and work out the most efficient tool paths and job
strategy.
What you’ll be doing
Operating large CNC Milling Machines with FANUC Controllers
Programming or providing input and feedback to CAM Operators in GibbsCAM
Producing parts to quality and safety standards
Completing daily safety and basic maintenance checks
Checking your own work and following quality processes
Handling materials safely
Keeping your work area tidy and organised
Pitching in across the team when needed
What you’ll bring
At least two year’s experience operating CNC milling machines or similar
Experience with CAM software (e.g. GibbsCAM)
Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
Ability to interpret technical drawings and machining requirements
Experience with physical material handling
People from manufacturing and engineering backgrounds tend to do well in this role.
