About the role
Location: Auckland
Full-time and Permanent
Pay: 45-50 per hour, depending on the candidate's experience
Hours per week: minimum of 40 hours and maximum of 50 hours
As a Site Manager at NY Trading Limited, you will be responsible for assisting the business owner in overseeing construction activities on a commercial and residential development project located in Auckland. Reporting directly to the company director, this full-time role will see you leading a team of skilled construction workers to ensure the successful and timely delivery of the project.
Job responsibilities
- Supervising and coordinating the day-to-day activities of the construction team to maintain the project schedule and quality standards
- Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth flow of materials, equipment and labour
- Monitoring health and safety compliance and implementing measures to mitigate risks on site
- Identifying and resolving construction issues in a timely manner to minimise disruptions
- Maintaining detailed records and providing regular progress reports to the Project Manager
- Implementing quality control procedures and inspecting work to validate adherence to specifications
- Supporting the recruitment, training and development of the construction team
Skills and Qualifications Requirements
- A qualification of diploma or higher specialised in project/construction management or related field, OR 2 years of proven experience as a Site Manager or similar role
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, equipment and safety regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and contracts
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to resolve issues efficiently
- Proficient in the use of construction management software and technology
- A tertiary qualification in Construction Management or a related field is preferred
