Job Responsibilities

  • Prepares worksites, sanding all surfaces to remove old paint and cleaning up debris.
  • Preparing surfaces by removing old paint or wallpaper.
  • Plastering surfaces and smoothing surfaces by sanding before painting.
  • Applying paints and varnishes using rollers and spray equipment.
  • Preparing surfaces and fixing cracks and holes.
  • Ensuring the use of drop sheets to prevent damage to flooring and surrounding areas.
  • Using thinners and pigments to prepare required colours and finishes.
  • Erecting scaffolding and ladders when required.
  • Carrying out other construction-related duties as required.
  • Demonstrating basic knowledge of hand tools and maintaining attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 kg.
  • Comfortable working in various positions, weather conditions, and at heights.
  • Punctual, reliable, and hardworking.
  • Able to work quickly and accurately.
  • Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
  • High standard of personal hygiene and workplace safety awareness.

Other Details

Place of Work: Auckland
Hours of Work: Minimum 30 hours per week
Wage Rate: NZ$28 – NZ$32 per hour

Minimum Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in the construction industry; or
  • A relevant qualification in construction, painting, decorating, or a related field.
