About the Role
We are seeking hardworking and reliable Construction Technicians to join our team in Christchurch working across Canterbury region. This is a full-time position where you’ll be working across a variety of construction projects.
Hours of work will be bewteen 07:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday, there will be occasional Saturday hours available, with 30 hours a week guarenteed.
As a Construction Technician working with Rightmove Recruitment you will be providing essential support to skilled trades in fast-paced construction environments. You will be a vital part of our site team, ensuring projects stay on schedule and sites are maintained to a premium standard.
What You’ll Be Doing
· Site Preparation & Maintenance: Clearing debris, organizing materials, and ensuring a safe, tidy workspace at all times.
· Trade Support: Assisting carpenters, bricklayers, and other tradespeople with heavy lifting, tool handling, and basic assembly tasks.
· Material Management: Loading and unloading deliveries and moving heavy construction materials safely across varied terrain.
· Equipment Operation: Using basic power tools and machinery (such as drills, grinders, or compactors) under supervision.
· Concrete & Foundations: Assisting with concrete pours, boxing, and site levelling.
· Safety Compliance: Adhering strictly to health and safety protocols, particularly in challenging alpine weather conditions.
What We’re Looking For
· Proven Experience: At least 6–12 months of experience on a construction site or in a physically demanding manual role.
· Physical Fitness: Capability to perform heavy lifting and manual tasks throughout the day in an outdoor environment.
· Reliability: A "turn-up-on-time" attitude and a strong work ethic—our team relies on you to keep the site moving.
· Communication: Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a site team.
· Safety Conscious: A solid understanding of site safety; a valid Site Safe card is highly regarded.
· Logistics: A valid driver’s licence and your own reliable transportation to get to various sites around Canterbury.
