Rightmove Recruitment are recruiting Carpenters to join our growing team in Christchurch, working in the city and across the Canterbury Region. We work with reputable companies on commmercial and residential projects, providing consistent high quality work for Tradespeople. 

This role is a full-time and permanent postion with guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week. 

About the role

This is a full-time permanent opportunity to join a great team, utilising your expertise in carpentry to deliver high-quality residential construction projects.

Starting pay rate will be $29.00 to $35.00 per hour.

Key responsibilities 

  • Carry out a wide range of carpentry tasks including framing, foundations and the installation of windows, doors and fixtures.
  • Read and interpret drawings and construction plans to ensure work is completed accurately and to specifications
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and site safety at all times.
  • Work effectively within a team, communicating clearly to ensure tasks are completed efficiently. 
  • Operate independently when required and take responsibility for your work. 
  • Be available to work occasional Saturdays as project demands require. 

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience
  • Strong attention to detail, taking pride in producing high quality work
  • Own a full set of tools required to perform carpentry duties
  • Reliable transport and a strong, punctual work ethic
  • Site Safe certification is advantageous but not essential
