About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Distribution Manager to join our import and wholesale business. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the distribution department and ensuring efficient warehousing, inventory control, order fulfillment, and transportation coordination.
This is a full-time permanent position based in Auckland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the daily operations of a distribution center, which includes managing order processing, picking, packaging, shipping, and receiving.
- Monitoring inventory levels to ensure sufficient levels to fulfill all orders and balancing workloads to achieve production and delivery goals.
- Utilize software, data, and analytics to optimize operations, track production metrics, and antici pate and resolve problems.
- Knowledge of department processes, compliance with OSHA and other regulations, and the ability to evaluate and select transportation or freight services
- Oversee the daily operations of the distribution centre, including order processing, picking, packing, dispatching, shipping, and receiving goods.
- Monitoring inventory levels to ensure sufficient levels to fulfill all orders and balancing workloads to achieve production and delivery goals.
- Utilize software, data, and analytics to optimize operations, track production metrics, and antici pate and resolve problems.
- Plan and manage distribution workflows to achieve operational efficiency and delivery targets.
- Identify operational issues and implement effective solutions to minimize delays and improve productivity.
- Coordinate transportation and freight services, including evaluating and selecting suitable logistics providers.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations, company policies, and operational procedures.
- Supervise and support warehouse and distribution staff to maintain a productive and safe working environment.
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
What We’re Looking For:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in wholesales business, such as distribution, logistics, warehouse, or supply chain operations, etc.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and freight coordination.
- Ability to use operational software and analyse data to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Good leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements and compliance standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
