Agreement type:Full-time permanent

Hours: Minimum 30 hours – Maximum 40 hours per week 

Rostered work: Between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday

Rate: $30.00 to $32.00

Location: Shannon (Manawatu-Whanganui)

About the Role

As an Automotive Air Conditioning Specialist, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing, installing, and maintaining automotive air conditioning systems across a range of vehicles. You will play an important role in ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering accurate diagnostics and quality workmanship with a “fix it right the first time” approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose faults in automotive air conditioning systems

  • Carry out repairs, servicing, maintenance, and installations

  • Check systems for leaks and conduct testing and balancing

  • Advise customers on suitable air conditioning solutions

  • Complete job sheets and documentation accurately

  • Ensure all vehicles are handled carefully and returned clean and tidy

  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures

  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition

  • Work collaboratively with team members and management

  • Assist with training and mentoring junior staff when required

Skills & Experience Required

  • Have at least 3 years automotive air conditioning repair experience in automotive industry, commercial air conditioning , refrigerator or relevant qualifications.

  • Strong understanding of electrical, electronic, gas, pressure, and temperature systems

  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Good computer and documentation skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Current driver’s licence relevant to vehicle class

  • Own tool kit preferred
