Assistant Manager (2IC)

WAPITI DAIRY LIMITED is looking for an Assistant Manager (2IC) to join the new farm in Reporoa.

Some of your tasks related to this position would be:
- Supervises milking from paddock to farm dairy as required. Implements routine
maintenance schedules, including the milking plant, identifying and fixing faults as
needed. Maintains hygiene and cleanliness around dairy.
- Implements and monitors health, calving and mating plans and reports progress.
Identifies and treats animal health problems.
- Develops implements and monitors the feed budget using seasonal feed
requirements
- Meets environmental regulations through management of soil, nutrients, effluent
and water efficiently.
- Supports and trains junior employees in their development. Communicates clearly
and openly.
- Machine, Vehicles and Technology: Safely uses and maintains vehicles on farm as
directed by on farm policy.
- Health, Safety and Wellbeing: Actively models a Health, Safety and Wellbeing culture
and is aware of others in the workplace.
- Manage and handle key aspects of the working day, including running the dairy shed

The right applicant will be punctual, reliable and have good communication skills.

You should have at least 3 years of NZ dairy farming experience.

This is a drug-free work zone and the applicant will need to be comfortable to undergo
a drug test if ever requested. Police vetting may also be requested.

You should be able to provide previous work references.

Salary: $34 - $36 per hour (based on experience) with $200 per week rent deduction
for accommodation.
