ePayments Limited is a New Zealand-based financial technology company specialising in cross-border payment solutions, China payment gateway services, digital payment integration, and merchant payment infrastructure. The company supports a wide range of payment channels including WeChat Pay, Alipay, Binance Pay, API-based online payments, POS system integrations, and automated self-service payment solutions.
To support our continued business growth and strengthen our financial governance, we are now seeking an experienced and commercially minded Corporate Finance Manager to join our Auckland team.
Position Overview
The Corporate Finance Manager will be responsible for planning, organising, directing, controlling, and coordinating the financial and accounting activities of the company. This role will oversee corporate finance operations, financial reporting, budgeting, cashflow management, compliance, internal controls, and financial strategy to support the company’s continued growth in the digital payment and fintech sector.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and operational teams to ensure accurate financial management, effective risk control, and sound commercial decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities
· Plan, direct, and coordinate the company’s overall financial management, corporate finance, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and management accounting functions.
· Lead financial planning and business performance analysis to support the company’s strategic development, cross-border payment services, merchant solutions, and long-term commercial growth.
· Oversee daily finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, settlement records, reconciliations, payroll-related financial records, general ledger management, and coordination with external accounting service providers.
· Manage cashflow planning, working capital allocation, merchant settlement monitoring, payment processing costs, and liquidity control to ensure the company maintains stable and efficient financial operations.
· Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management, including profit and loss analysis, balance sheet reporting, cashflow analysis, budget variance analysis, and business performance commentary.
· Provide financial analysis and commercial advice to senior management on pricing strategies, cost control, payment product development, merchant service models, investment opportunities, and business expansion plans.
· Support corporate finance matters, including financial modelling, feasibility analysis, capital allocation, project evaluation, investment return assessment, and strategic partnership proposals.
· Participate in the financial assessment of new business initiatives, including API integration projects, cross-border payment channels, merchant acquisition strategies, and fintech-related service development.
· Develop, review, and maintain financial policies, internal control procedures, accounting processes, and reporting systems to improve financial transparency, governance, and operational efficiency.
· Monitor financial risks associated with payment transactions, merchant settlements, foreign exchange exposure, operational costs, partner arrangements, and cashflow obligations, and recommend practical risk-control measures.
· Coordinate the preparation of annual financial statements, tax filings, audit materials, statutory financial records, and other required financial documentation.
· Liaise with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, banks, payment partners, financial institutions, and professional service providers in relation to finance, settlement, compliance, and reporting matters.
· Ensure the company’s financial activities comply with applicable New Zealand laws, accounting standards, tax requirements, internal governance policies, and relevant financial service obligations.
· Identify financial inefficiencies, cost-control opportunities, process gaps, and areas for improvement, and implement practical solutions to enhance profitability, financial stability, and management decision-making.
· Lead, supervise, and support finance-related staff, internal stakeholders, and external finance service providers to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations.
Requirements
· A bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, or a closely related field.
· At least 5 years of solid experience in corporate finance, financial management, accounting, or a similar finance leadership role.
· Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management, and internal financial controls.
· Experience in fintech, payment services, banking, e-commerce, cross-border trade, or merchant services will be highly regarded.
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide practical commercial recommendations.
· Good knowledge of accounting, tax, and compliance requirements.
· High attention to detail and the ability to manage sensitive financial information accurately and confidentially.
· Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
· Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and support decision-making in a fast-moving business environment.
· Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools.
· Bilingual ability in English and Mandarin Chinese will be an advantage due to the company’s cross-border payment business and merchant client base.
