Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Greenhouse Worker / Truck Driver to join our team. This role is primarily focused on greenhouse production, crop handling, packing, and general greenhouse operations, with driving duties required to transport products and supplies as needed. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced horticultural environment and willing to assist across all areas of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily greenhouse tasks including planting, crop maintenance, watering, pruning, and general plant care.
  • Harvest, grade, sort, and prepare greenhouse products for sale and distribution.
  • Pack and label products according to quality and customer specifications.
  • Assist with order preparation, inventory management, and loading products for delivery.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of greenhouse, packing, and storage areas.
  • Operate greenhouse equipment and follow workplace health and safety procedures.
  • Load, secure, transport, and unload products and materials using Class 2 and Class 4 trucks.
  • Deliver products to customers, distribution centres, and suppliers in a safe and timely manner.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and complete required transport documentation.
  • Assist with receiving and storing supplies, growing media, packaging materials, and other deliveries.
  • Support seasonal production activities and other greenhouse operations as required.
  • Work collaboratively with greenhouse and packing staff to meet production and delivery schedules.

Requirements

  • Valid New Zealand Class 2 and Class 4 driver's licence.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual handling, lifting, packing, and greenhouse work.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a greenhouse environment and in varying weather conditions.
  • Good communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • Forklift licence is an advantage but not essential.
  • Previous greenhouse, horticulture, agriculture, packing, warehouse, or transport experience is preferred.

The suitable applicant must have at least two years of relevant work experience in driving trucks. Candidates will be paid $31 NZD per hour and will be guaranteed a minimum of 30 hours of work per week, with the potential to work up to 50 hours per week. All the hours will be paid at $31.
