Road Transport Manager Urgently Needed 

Sandhu Incorporation 2 Limited operates road transport and freight services across the Auckland region and requires a Road Transport Manager to oversee daily ransport operations, manage drivers and fleet activities, and ensure compliance with New Zealand transport and safety regulations. This role is
essential to ensure efficient service delivery, regulatory compliance, and high customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Planning & Service Delivery
Plan, organise, and control day‑to‑day transport and delivery operations.
Ensure transport services are delivered effi ciently, safely, and on time.
Monitor daily operations and adjust schedules to respond to traffi cconditions, disruptions, or urgent requests.
2. Fleet & Asset Management
Oversee the operation, allocation, and utilisation of company vehicles.
Plan and coordinate vehicle servicing, maintenance, inspections, andrepairs.
Ensure vehicles meet NZTA roadworthiness, RUC, registration, andcompliance requirements.

Monitor fuel usage, vehicle performance, and running costs to improveeffi cienc.
3. Driver & Staff Management
Recruit, train, roster, and supervise drivers and operational staff .
Monitor driver performance, attendance, and compliance with companystandards.
Ensure drivers comply with work‑time, logbook, and fatigue‑managementrules.
Conduct staff inductions, performance reviews, and disciplinary processeswhen required.
Promote professional behaviour, customer service standards, and safedriving practices.
4. Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with NZ transport legislation, NZTA regulations, andhealth & safety laws.
Implement and maintain transport safety systems, policies, and procedures.
Monitor compliance with driver hours, fatigue management, and drug &alcohol policies.
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near‑misses and implement correctiveactions.
Maintain compliance documentation, records, and audit readiness.
5. Stakeholder Management
Liaise with stakeholders to understand delivery requirements and serviceexpectations.
Resolve complaints, delivery issues, and service disruptions promptly.

Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers asrequired.
Maintain strong professional relationships with clients and business partners.
6. Financial & Performance Management
Develop and manage operational budgets, including fuel, maintenance,labour, and overhead costs.
Monitor KPIs such as delivery performance, utilization, cost effi ciency, anddriver productivity.
Prepare operational reports, performance summaries, and managementupdates.
Identify cost‑saving opportunities and operational improvements.
7. Systems, Records & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, driver logs, fl eet utilisation,compliance, and maintenance.
Use scheduling systems, GPS tracking, and transport management systemseff ectively.
Prepare regular reports for senior management on operations, compliance,and performance trends.
8. Continuous Improvement
Review current transport processes and implement effi ciency and safetyimprovements.
Introduce best‑practice transport and logistics methodologies.
Identify opportunities to improve service reliability, reduce costs, andincrease customer satisfaction.
