About the Role
RBL Metalcraft Ltd is seeking 2 experienced Lift Mechanics to join our growing team. This role involves the design, installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of electric and hydraulic lifts, escalators, and moving walkways across commercial and residential sites in New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities
· Install, commission, service, and repair lifts, escalators, and moving walkways across commercial and residential sites
· Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control faults using tools and technical documents
· Carry out preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, and emergency call-outs to reduce downtime
· Read and follow engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and manuals for accurate work
· Perform upgrades to motors, drives, controllers, and safety systems
· Inspect and test equipment to meet NZ safety standards and specifications
· Complete service reports and maintain accurate compliance records
· Follow all health and safety procedures and safe work practices
· Coordinate with clients, engineers, and team members to deliver work efficiently
· Plan jobs, manage tools and materials, and meet site requirements
· Travel across New Zealand for installation and service work
· Work independently or in a team, including after-hours or on-call work
Position Details
Company: RBL Metalcraft Ltd
Location: Wellington (travel across New Zealand required)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent (minimum 30 hours per week and maximum 45 hours per week)
Pay Rate: $35 – $38 per hour (depending on experience)

Skills & Experience Requirements
· At least 2–3 years’ relevant work experience as a Lift Mechanic / Elevator Technician
· Any trade qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Lift Technology is an advantage
· Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams
· Knowledge of lift safety systems and control panels
· Ability to travel nationwide for installations and service work
· Ability to work independently and under pressure
· Strong communication and customer service skills
