About the role
Rightmove Recruitment is seeking a skilled and experienced CAD technician with scheduling skills to join an established team in Christchurch. This is a part time role which will move to full time as the business allows.
As the CAD technician, and production scheduler you will be responsible for designing all materials to be made by the engineering staff and scheduling the products to be made in the workshop in a timely manner.
The workshop offers several different engineering services and takes pride in their exceptional customer service.
The normal business hours are 7am to 3.30pm.
There is some negotiation on start and finish times depending on workload.

What you'll be doing
- Designing and coordinating the work of a team of workshop technicians to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard
- Allocating work orders and monitoring progress to meet deadlines and customer expectations
- Providing technical guidance and support to team members, and identifying training needs
- Using an ERP system and doing costings.
- Participating in the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance workshop productivity
- Experience (3+ years) in a similar role within an engineering workshop or manufacturing environment
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing demands
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant CAD software experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality standards
- A valid driver's licence and own vehicle.
