Clean Cut Mulching and Mowing Limited provides horticulture and orchard services across the Bay of Plenty region and requires Horticulture Leading Hands to support supervisors and lead small teams in daily orchard operations. These roles are essential to ensure efficient delivery of seasonal programmes, maintain work quality, and support safe horticultural practices across sites.

Position Title: Horticulture Leading Hand
Number of Positions: 2
Location: Bay of Plenty, New Zealand
Pay Rate: $30 – $37 per hour
Hours of Work: 30 – 40 hours per week

 

Key Requirements

  • 5 years of experience or Level 7 qualification.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead small teams in daily horticulture and orchard tasks.
  • Carry out and supervise pruning, thinning, canopy work, mulching, and mowing activities.
  • Allocate tasks and monitor productivity and work quality.
  • Train new staff in correct horticultural techniques and safe work practices.
  • Operate tools and equipment safely (e.g. secateurs, trimmers, mulchers, mowers).
  • Assist supervisors with planning and coordinating seasonal work programmes.
  • Maintain orchard hygiene, safety, and biosecurity standards.
  • Identify and report plant health issues, hazards, or equipment faults.
  • Support general orchard maintenance and irrigation checks when required.
  • Maintain basic records of work activities and team attendance.
