Modoo Food Limited is a New Zealand-based wholesale supplier and specialist in bubble tea, fruit tea, milk tea, toppings, syrups, powders, tea leaves, beverage ingredients, drink equipment, and customised beverage solutions.
We supply and support cafés, restaurants, takeaway stores, dessert shops, bubble tea shops, food-service operators, business start-ups, and other B2B customers across New Zealand. Our business combines product supply with beverage consultancy, product training, recipe support, marketing materials, customised drink solutions, and practical customer service.
As our product range, customer base, and sales channels continue to grow, we are looking for a commercially minded Sales Analyst to help us turn sales, customer, product, pricing, marketing, and operational data into clear business insights.
About the role
This is a newly created full-time opportunity to join Modoo Food Limited as a Sales Analyst, based at our Penrose, Auckland operation. You will work 30 hours per week from Monday to Friday. Your remuneration will start from NZ$40 per hour.
You will play an important role in supporting sales performance, customer development, product planning, pricing decisions, marketing effectiveness, inventory planning, and management reporting. The role requires strong analytical ability, commercial judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to translate data into practical recommendations for management and the sales team.
The successful candidate will apply mathematical, statistical, economic, and business analysis techniques to a range of sales, customer, market, product, and operational tasks. This role will suit someone with a background in economics, econometrics, business economics, statistics, data analytics, business analysis, or a related discipline.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting detailed analysis of sales data, customer purchasing patterns, product performance, seasonal demand, pricing, margins, promotions, and market trends.
- Applying mathematical, statistical, econometric, and quantitative analysis techniques to identify sales trends, forecast demand, assess product performance, and support pricing and customer development decisions.
- Reviewing and analysing economic, market, and industry data relevant to the beverage, food-service, wholesale, and B2B customer sectors, and preparing reports for management.
- Preparing regular sales reports, KPI dashboards, customer analysis, product performance reports, sales forecasts, pricing reviews, and management presentations.
- Supporting the sales team with timely and accurate data-driven insights, including customer segmentation, repeat-purchase analysis, sales conversion review, product mix analysis, and customer growth opportunities.
- Developing, organising, and maintaining internal information systems, including sales records, customer data, product information, pricing files, reporting templates, product libraries, and other business information-keeping services.
- Managing the collection, processing, and interpretation of sales, customer, product, marketing, and operational data to produce commercial intelligence for management.
- Analysing and advising on business options relating to sales strategy, product planning, pricing, customer service, marketing activities, and operational efficiency.
- Assessing the commercial value and operational use of product ranges, promotional resources, equipment support, warehouse space, training resources, customer accounts, and other business assets relevant to sales and operational planning.
- Reviewing the effectiveness of marketing activities, online content, promotional campaigns, product launches, tasting activities, menus, posters, customer training, and other sales-support initiatives.
- Working with management, sales, marketing, warehouse, and customer-service teams to improve sales processes, customer enquiry handling, quotation procedures, order follow-up, reporting systems, and internal workflows.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for a candidate who can bring strong analytical skills, business sense, and practical problem-solving ability to a growing wholesale food and beverage business.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Applied Economics, Econometrics, Business Economics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Commerce, or a related field.
- Strong ability to apply mathematical, statistical, economic, and quantitative methods to real business issues.
- At least 12 months of experience in business data analysis, sales analysis, market analysis, customer analysis, KPI reporting, forecasting, pricing analysis, or management reporting.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data, spreadsheets, reports, dashboards, and business records.
- Experience with or knowledge of analytical and business intelligence tools will be an advantage.
- Ability to prepare clear reports, business summaries, dashboards, and presentations for management and internal stakeholders.
- Good understanding of sales performance, customer behaviour, pricing, product profitability, marketing effectiveness, and business operations.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to organise, maintain, and improve business information systems and reporting files.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to translate data into practical and actionable business recommendations.
- Good communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain analysis clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work with sales, marketing, warehouse, customer-service, and management teams in a practical SME business environment.
