We are seeking an experienced and motivated Metal Polisher to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for preparing, finishing, repairing, and polishing metal components to achieve high-quality surface finishes that meet engineering and production specifications.

Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will be involved in metal finishing, surface preparation, polishing, buffing, grinding, coating application, and quality control processes to ensure products meet both performance and aesthetic standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Polish, buff, grind, and finish metal components to achieve required surface finishes and tolerances.
  • Inspect metal products and tooling for defects, wear, and surface imperfections.
  • Operate polishing, grinding, buffing, and finishing equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Prepare metal surfaces for coating, plating, painting, or other finishing treatments.
  • Apply protective coatings and surface treatments to improve durability and performance.
  • Perform repair and restoration work on metal parts, tooling, dies, and components.
  • Carry out quality inspections to ensure finished products meet specifications and industry standards.
  • Maintain production records and complete required documentation.
  • Assist with the maintenance and cleaning of machinery, tools, and work areas.
  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and company policies.

Skills and Experience

  • At least 2 years' experience in metal polishing, die polishing, metal finishing, grinding, buffing, or a closely related manufacturing role.
  • Experience using polishing machines, grinders, abrasives, and hand-finishing tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to read and follow technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Positions available in the following regions: Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawkes Bay, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Southland, Northland, Taranaki, Gisborne, Canterbury, Otago. When workers are required to travel, appropriate travel and accommodation expenses will be provided.
