Bookkeeper wanted

Location: Auckland, New Zealand

Hours: 30 – 40 hours per week
Pay Rate: $30.00–$35.00 per hour, based on skills and experience

About the Role

Dreamhome Construction Group is a growing construction company specialising in residential and commercial building projects throughout Auckland. We are committed to delivering high-quality workmanship and professional services to our clients. Due to continued business growth, we are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and accounting systems.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and supplier accounts.
  • Prepare and process payroll records and related employment payments.
  • Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting activities.
  • Prepare GST returns and assist with other tax-related obligations.
  • Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting requirements.
  • Liaise with external accountants, suppliers, clients, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in accordance with company policies and New Zealand regulatory requirements.

Skills and Experience Required

Applicants must have either:

  • A relevant diploma or above in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, or a related field; or
  • At least three years of relevant bookkeeping or accounting experience.

The successful applicant should also demonstrate:

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
  • Experience using accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or similar systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
