Position: Tattoo Artist
Location: Auckland, New Zealand
Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to understand their tattoo ideas, preferences, and design requirements.
- Create custom tattoo artwork and prepare tattoo designs based on client specifications.
- Apply tattoos using professional tattooing equipment and techniques while maintaining high artistic and technical standards.
- Advise clients on tattoo placement, sizing, colour selection, and aftercare requirements.
- Maintain strict hygiene, sterilisation, and health and safety procedures in accordance with industry standards.
- Prepare and maintain tattoo equipment, needles, inks, and workstations.
- Modify or enhance existing tattoo designs, including cover-up and restoration work where required.
- Keep accurate client records and consent documentation.
- Contribute to the studio's portfolio, social media presence, and promotional activities.
- Maintain professional client relationships and deliver exceptional customer service.
Skills and Experience
- At least one year of relevant work experience as a Tattoo Artist.
- Demonstrated ability to produce original tattoo designs and artwork.
- Experience in a range of tattoo styles, including black and grey, colour, fine line, realism, illustrative, or custom tattoo work.
- Strong artistic, drawing, and creative design skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Sound knowledge of tattoo hygiene, infection control, and safe work practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative studio environment.
