Tattoo Artist

Pintados Tattoo Studio is a growing Auckland-based private tattoo studio specialising in custom tattoo designs, black and grey work, colour tattoos, fine line tattoos, and bespoke body art. We are passionate about creating high-quality, personalised tattoo experiences for our clients in a professional, safe, and welcoming environment. Due to business growth, we are seeking three talented and creative Tattoo Artists to join our team.

Position: Tattoo Artist

Location: Auckland, New Zealand

Key Responsibilities

• Consult with clients to understand their tattoo ideas, preferences, and design requirements.
• Create custom tattoo artwork and prepare tattoo designs based on client specifications.
• Apply tattoos using professional tattooing equipment and techniques while maintaining high artistic and technical standards.
• Advise clients on tattoo placement, sizing, colour selection, and aftercare requirements.
• Maintain strict hygiene, sterilisation, and health and safety procedures in accordance with industry standards.
• Prepare and maintain tattoo equipment, needles, inks, and workstations.
• Modify or enhance existing tattoo designs, including cover-up and restoration work where required.
• Keep accurate client records and consent documentation.
• Contribute to the studio's portfolio, social media presence, and promotional activities.
• Maintain professional client relationships and deliver exceptional customer service.

Skills and Experience

• At least one year of relevant work experience as a Tattoo Artist.
• Demonstrated ability to produce original tattoo designs and artwork.
• Experience in a range of tattoo styles, including black and grey, colour, fine line, realism, illustrative, or custom tattoo work.
• Strong artistic, drawing, and creative design skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and precision.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Sound knowledge of tattoo hygiene, infection control, and safe work practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative studio environment.
