We are a busy, small but fast-growing transport (freight) and courier delivery company. We are looking to expand our team and require drivers with Class 1 licence and at least one year of experience

Driver

Core duties include;

 

·       Determining the destinations of goods and most appropriate delivery routes

·       Manoeuvring vehicles into position for loading and unloading.

·       Sorting and sequencing items for delivery

·       Delivering mail, parcels, documents and other items to customers' premises and mailboxes.

·       Collecting signatures. Issuing and collecting receipts for pick-up and delivery items

·       keeping records of items received and delivered

·       Assisting with loading to ensure goods are arranged for ease of delivery and safely secured to avoid damage.

·       Verifying loading documents

·       Arranging and performing unloading operations and obtaining certification of deliveries

·       Maintaining walk books, directories, mail counts, equipment maintenance logs and other delivery records

·       Loading and unloading mail conveyances and internal mail handling equipment

·       Reporting vehicle maintenance needs

·       Receive payments for deliveries and arrange accounts.

 

Be advised that this job requires heavy lifting, and the person should be physically fit to upload heavy objects.

Working on weekends and will be available on-calls (if required) for this position.

Hourly wage rate: $25 - $30 per hour depending on experience and skills.

Preference will be given to candidates who are already in New Zealand and has relevant work experience.

All suitable candidates should be able to pass a drug test and a Ministry of Justice/Police check when required.
