We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Retail Buyer to join our busy retail business based in Auckland. We are looking for a motivated, organised, and detail-oriented individual who can manage purchasing activities efficiently and contribute to the overall success of the store. You will be required to work from Monday to Saturday with minimum 30 hours and maximum 40 hours per week. You may also be required to work on weekends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and select product ranges based on customer demand and market trends
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate purchasing activities to avoid shortages or overstocking
  • Source products and negotiate pricing, quality, and delivery terms with suppliers
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors
  • Work with management on long-term business planning and sales promotions.
  • Develop pricing, marketing, promotion, and product display plans.
  • Analyse sales reports and customer trends to make informed purchasing decisions
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, invoices, and inventory reports
  • Monitor competitor pricing and market activities
  • Ensure products meet company quality standards and customer expectations
  • Work closely with store management to plan promotions and seasonal product selections
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety standards, and retail procedures 

Key Requirements

  • To be successful, you should have 2 years of relevant industry work experience OR a Level 4 or higher qualification in any subject area.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong computer and administrative skills

Salary will be negotiated based on proven skills and experience and is expected to range from $30 to $35 per hour.
