Carpenter

We are currently seeking a reliable Carpenter to join our team for projects in Queenstown and Southland. This role is available for an immediate start and upcoming projects and is a great opportunity for someone to continue developing their skills on a variety of building sites.

Job Description:

Responsibilities include:

• Interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine
  specifications and requirements.
• Construct and assemble formwork and boxing for concrete foundations, walls, and
  infrastructure projects.
• Cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, wallboard, and other materials using
  hand and power tools, including frames, trusses, partitions, and flooring systems.
• Operate woodworking machines.
• Install and fit plasterboard, windows, doors, internal fittings, and structural
  components such as framing, trusses, and stairs. Construct and install stairs,
  balustrades, handrails etc.
• Erect scaffolding and ladders as needed for assembly and installation.
• Carry out repairs on damaged frameworks or other structures, fixtures and
  components within buildings and infrastructure.
• Manufacture and assemble joinery components such as doors, window sashes and
  cabinet carcasses.
• Disassemble joinery components.
• Apply finishes such as paint, varnish and stain, attach hinges, locks ad handles to
  wooden structures.
• Perform preventative maintenance on structural elements to ensure safety,
  durability, and functionality.
• Operate and maintain hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with design specifications, construction
  plans, and relevant safety standards.

What we're looking for:

• Minimum 2 years relevant experience or level 4 qualification
• Comfortable using hand and power tools
• Reliable, hardworking, and able to work well in a team
• Able to pass a drug test and conviction check.

What we offer:

• $28 - $35 per hour depending on experience
• Monday to friday, Minimum 30 hours per week
• May be occasional weekend work
• Work across multiple projects in Southland and Queenstown
