efficient solutions for both local and intercity relocations. We have full time position

available as Furniture Removalist / Delivery Assistant, working minimum 30 hrs per week. But the hours may vary from day to day not.
Purpose of the Role
To assist with furniture removals, deliveries, loading and unloading of goods, and operation of company vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Assist with packing, loading and unloading furniture and household items.

Safely move goods between customer locations and company vehicles.

Drive and park company Class 1 delivery trucks, vans, or other vehicles as required.

Cash handling: Candidates must be honest and reliable as the role involves cash handling

Follow delivery schedules and directions provided by management.

Secure items properly during transport to avoid damage.

Assist customers in a polite and professional manner during removals and deliveries.

Assist with assembling or positioning furniture where required.

Help maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of company vehicles.

Carry out basic vehicle checks including fuel, tyres, lights and cleanliness.

Report any vehicle damage, safety concerns or maintenance issues to management.

Assist with warehouse, dispatch, storage or logistics duties when required.

Follow all company health and safety procedures at all times.

Work cooperatively with team members to complete jobs efficiently.

Perform any other reasonable duties related to the role.
Skills and Requirements

Current and valid New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence.

Ability to safely drive and park light delivery trucks and vans.

Open to NZ citizens/ residents or should have a valid work visa

Good communication and customer service skills.

Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving furniture safely.

Ability to work as part of a team.

Reliable, punctual and well presented.

Understanding of basic road safety and workplace health and safety practices.

Cash handling: Candidates must be honest and reliable as the role involves cash handling.

Hours: Note that hours of work may vary from day to day including early morning start or and finish at late night.

Availability: Candidates may occasionally need to be available on call.
Preferred Experience
-
Experience in deliveries, removals, warehouse operations, logistics or customer service is preferred but not essential.
-
Experience driving delivery vehicles or assisting with transportation of goods is an advantage.
