The Role

You will be working on commercial and government construction projects across Cairns and the surrounding region. This is large-scale commercial painting work covering fitouts, new builds, and government and industrial projects. The expectation is that you can hit the ground running with minimal supervision and deliver quality work consistently.
Whether you call yourself a painter, commercial painter, trade painter, or painting and decorating tradesperson, the core requirement is the same: proven commercial or industrial painting experience and a genuine commitment to quality workmanship.

Day to day you will be across:
  • Surface preparation and coating application across commercial and government sites
  • Brush, roller, and spray equipment application on large-scale projects
  • Reading and interpreting project specifications and drawings
  • Working across commercial fitouts, new builds, healthcare, education, and industrial projects
  • Delivering quality finishes to specification on every job
  • Maintaining safe work practices on active commercial construction sites
What We Need
  • Proven commercial or industrial painting experience, residential-only backgrounds are not suitable for this role
  • Trade qualification in Painting and Decorating strongly preferred
  • Strong surface preparation and coating application skills across brush, roller, and spray
  • Current White Card and valid driver's licence, both required
  • EWP licence and Working at Heights certification are desirable and will make your application stand out
  • Reliable attendance and high workmanship standards, John's top two filters
  • Genuine willingness to relocate to Cairns and comfortable working in a regional setting long-term
