The finance manager is responsible for overseeing the financial management and reporting activities of the company and its related entities. The role supports business growth by ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective budgeting and forecasting, sound financial controls, and compliance with New Zealand regulatory requirements.
The position will play a key role in managing financial operations across multiple property development and investment entities, supporting project feasibility assessments, monitoring project performance, and providing financial insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with New Zealand accounting standards and applicable reporting requirements.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of accounting records and financial information.
- Coordinate with external accountants, banks, and professional advisors.
- Ensure compliance with New Zealand taxation, GST, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic business decisions.
- Develop and maintain financial models for project evaluation and investment decisions.
- Monitor project budgets, construction costs, development expenditures, and project profitability.
- Oversee accounting and financial reporting for multiple related entities within the group.
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, CA, or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in accounting, finance or financial management roles.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial analysis skills.
- Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Experience in property development, construction, real estate, or project-based industries is preferred.
