Shivani Partnership seeks an Operations Manager to oversee horticulture farm operations in the Bay of Plenty. The role includes managing crop production, coordinating staff, ensuring compliance, and supporting efficient and productive farm performance.

Location: Bay of Plenty, New Zealand
Pay Rate: $35 – $45 per hour
Hours of Work: 30 – 40 hours per week
Key Requirements
- NZQCF Level 7 or above qualification OR at least 2.5 years’ experience.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Plan, organise, and oversee daily horticulture farm operations.
- Coordinate seasonal work programmes including planting, pruning, maintenance, and harvesting.
- Ensure efficient use of labour, machinery, and farm resources.
Crop & Production Management
- Monitor crop health, irrigation systems, and pest/disease conditions.
- Implement production strategies to achieve yield and quality targets.
- Maintain records of farm activities, production output, and resource use.
Staff & Resource Coordination
- Manage and coordinate farm workers and contractors as required.
- Support recruitment, training, and supervision of staff.
- Allocate tasks and monitor productivity and work quality.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, environmental, and industry standards.
- Implement farm procedures and operational guidelines.
- Monitor safe use of machinery, chemicals, and equipment.
Business & Reporting
- Assist with budgeting, cost control, and farm planning.
- Prepare operational reports and updates for management.
- Identify improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
