Excavator Operator

Cheema Builder Ltd is looking for one Excavator Operator in a full-time permanent position in the Auckland region at a pay rate of $30 to $40 per hour.

• Operate excavators to excavate, move, load, and spread earth, soil, rock, rubble, and other materials on construction and civil works sites.
• Prepare and position excavators for safe and efficient operation in accordance with site plans and project requirements.
• Perform trenching, foundation excavation, drainage works, bulk earthworks, site clearance, and land development activities.
• Select, fit, operate, and remove excavator attachments such as buckets, augers, hydraulic hammers, rock breakers, and grabs.
• Operate machine controls to dig, level, compact, backfill, and shape ground surfaces to specified levels and tolerances.
• Read and interpret site plans, drawings, markers, and verbal instructions to complete excavation works accurately.
• Monitor machine performance and adjust controls to regulate pressure, speed, and operational efficiency while maintaining site safety.
• Load excavated materials onto trucks and relocate materials within the construction site as required.
• Conduct daily pre-start inspections and identify, report, and record any mechanical faults or safety issues.
• Perform routine servicing, lubrication, cleaning, refuelling, and minor maintenance of excavators and associated equipment.
• Work closely with supervisors, spotters, truck drivers, and other site personnel to ensure safe excavation operations.
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company policies while operating machinery

NZ Level 2 or higher qualification or equivalent or 1 year of work experience
